Develop an interactive digital platform for farmers to log pertinent information regarding the safety parameters of their farm, for the GAP program, to ensure their product meets health and safety standards.
How do we develop a responsive digital platform to effectively organize large amounts of data while marketing it to a community that is largely opposed to using digital devices and already has a negative outlook on the GAP program? HTML provides the capability to host large amounts of data while D3.js provides a platform the farmers can easily navigate. While most of the time spent on the project consisted of data entry, it would have been a critical error to overlook the UX/UI design of the platform.
Since a large segment of the farming population does not interact with digital apps very often, user testing was paramount. During the first phase of testing, issues of navigation, type size, and question clarity surfaced. With each phase of user testing, the platform was refined into a system of eight sections. Each consisting of a dynamic Standard Operating Procedure that could be tailored to the individual farm, and a set of digital log forms the farmer can use to record data and even print, if they prefer a paper copy.

type + technology timeline
Develop an interactive platform to organize type and technology milestones across the millennia for the user to gain a glimpse into type advancements and how each success relates to the other.
The type and technology timeline creates a way for large quantities of information to be accessible in a format that allows the user to compare and contrast the events in relation to one another. Creating an easy-to-use platform that maintained clarity throughout was paramount in developing a user-friendly experience. Effective UX/UI is critical in the success of interactive experiences and this platform is no exception.
By breaking the information up into centuries, the advancements can be seen across the last thousand years providing a look into how type innovations evolved, starting with just a few notable events and quickly accelerating in the rate of advancement. Furthermore, the successes in each century are broken down into three different categories: Classification, Typeface, and Technology. This provides the user with a unique outlook into the relationship between the advancements within each century.
